POTD: Bindondo Church, Manila Philippines

I took this photo in December 2006 with an Olympus E500 and kit lens.  Due to my current recovery from a broken ankle (received during one of my street walking photo shoots of course) I am finally finding the time to go back through my thousands of digital photos taken over the years and reprocess some of them in Adobe Lightroom.  Going to be a few weeks before I can get out and photograph any more.  FYI, POTD is short for Photo Of The Day.

Binondo Church, also known as Minor Basilica of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish, is located in the District of Binondo, Manila fronting Plaza San Lorenzo Ruiz, in the Philippines. Founded by Dominican priests in 1596, the original church was destroyed by the British in 1762. The current building made of granite was completed in 1852. In World War II it was severely damaged by due to Allied and Japanese battles. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz is the first Philippines saint, canonised in 1987.
