Makati night and day

Arrived in Makati Philippines on March 19th, 2015 at 1 AM in the morning.   I last left Makati on October 19th, 2007.  That makes it 7 years and 5 months I have been away.   My first day or two were dedicated primarily to resting up from the very long trip.   The first few days weren’t very cooperative for photo shooting either.   However, here are a couple of shots from the 10th floor window of my leased condo.  One at sunset and one in the daytime.   There will be more to come though before I leave here.   Equipment used is the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II with Olympus Zuiko 2-40 F2.8 Pro lens.

This journey is an exploratory and logistics trip with some fun and time to visit friends. Come summer of 2015 sometime I will retire to the Philippines, but someplace outside of the Manila metro area (NCR – National Capital Region).    I previously lived in Makati while working at various call center locations around the Islands.   It is a nice central place with lots of nearby conveniences but after all these years the traffic is still horrible, and air pollution still a problem.

Think I’ll find me a nice place out in the provinces with clean air, and a slower, less noisy pace.

  1. Hi David,

Two very nice photos of the city – it looks a lot more developed than I imagined. Good luck with your retirement adventure. I'm following along on your blog.
